Similarities/Differences between flying a plane and driving a car?
Q. Hello all, What are some similarities and differences between flying small single or two engine aircraft and driving a car? If someone is a good driver, is he or she also a good pilot? Can you please be as specific as possible? I'm trying to prove a point to my brother. Thanks! EDIT: I'm talking about General Aviation (i.e. flying that isn t the scheduled airlines or military, typically little planes and biz jets ). Please don't make any comparisons to big aircraft. Obviously, those are much harder to control than a car.

A. If you are good at driving one type of vehicle, you'll probably be good at operating others, since many of the skills and talents are shared. Flying an airplane is considerably more complex than driving a car because the airplane moves in three dimensions. It has more controls and they interact in more complex ways. Nevertheless, an expert automobile driver can probably become a very good pilot, in terms of controlling the airplane, if that be his desire. There's much more to flying than just controlling the airplane, especially in larger aircraft, so a good car driver might be good at controlling an airplane, too, but he might not be good at following all the procedures and regulations. Large jets are easier to fly in many ways than… [cont.]

A. As water provides buoyancy, one of the first problems to be encountered (and solved) was the need for some sort of support in the terrestrial environment ( modifications to exoskeleton, internal skeleton, lignin etc) As gas exchange can only occur via a fluid, the evolution of lungs, a highly branched tracheal system or a moist environment like the spongy mesophyll in the leaf would also be required. What are similarities between primeapes and humans?
Q. I personally do believe in evolution, and I just wanted to find out what similarities we share with our distant cousins. If possible, also what are some major differences (aside from the physical). Sorry I meant monkeys! Im not really interested in physical traits, more actions that they do eg: form family groups etc. Sorry Bwana yes I meant primeates, not apes. My bad!

A. "Primeapes"??? Do you mean the big Apes, like Gorillas and Orangutans, or do you mean "Primates" in general? I am not familiar with the term "Prime" Apes. I believe in evolution too, because it is logical and makes sense. Physically, it is obvious as to what we share in common with them. The Chimpanzee is only one chromosome away from us. Other than mentally, we are also more advanced because we have developed an opposable thumb and the ability to walk upright. Another factor responsible for our evolving past them is the ability to cook and manipulate our food to better make use of it so we can extract the most out of it. Many scientists believe this is the single factor that advanced us past all other living things. No other… [cont.]

Asked by Melanie - Sun Mar 1 16:46:47 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. This doesn't apply to spanish only, the subjunctive form is used differently in romance languages from germanic languages such as german, english and scandinavians ones. The subjunctive triggers when there is a wish, a request, but most importantly something ipotetic, something you can't be assured of. Some verbs that trigger subjunctive mood in ipotetic clauses are : believe, hope, think, but it applies to many more. I would be able to give you examples in italian as i don't know spanish, i will list you some examples where you should translate the verb in subjunctive. I want, that you know(subjunctive) where i was last night. God save(subjunctive) the queen. I believed you were(subjunctive) another kind of guy. If the sea were(subj [cont.]
