Q. I just had my wisdom tooth extracted two hours ago. The numbness has worn off and I'm really thirsty and hungry, but I'm still clenching the gauze. Is it okay to take some milk to relief my thirst and hunger without the gauze? Will this irritate the extraction site? Asked by St Mary - Tue Jan 6 04:21:14 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. The tannic acid keeps the clot moist and prevents dry socket.
