Glory is a loan word from Latin. Originally meaning boasting, and frequently used as an insult as much as a compliment, it eventually came to have an exclusively positive meaning, in English, and several other languages.

It may refer to:

Religion

  • Glory (religion), in Judeo-Christian religious tradition, the manifestation of God's presence; see also Hod (Kabbalah)
  • Glory, a term in Christian art for a halo surrounding the whole body of a person.
  • Glory Be to the Father, also known as Gloria Patri, a Christian prayer, a doxology or short hymn of praise to God in various Christian liturgies
  • Glorification, term for the canonization of a saint in the Eastern Orthodox Church

Does anyone know how to get rid of morning glory?
Q. I have a large garden and it is being overrun by morning glory. When I put the garden in I was healthy but since then I have developed fibromyalgia. I am limited in what I can now do. Last summer, I didn't do much and in back of our fence there is a green space that has morning glory and blackberries bushes. Because I didn't cut them back as I usually did they have encroached on the yard, both the morning glory and the blackberries grew through the fence and rooted where they touched the ground. So really I need help with both of these problem plants. Did I mention the ivy that is also finding its way into my garden?

A. All 3 of your problems can be eliminated by using "Brush-B-Gone" or "Brush Killer"...which contains the active ingredient called "TRICLOPYR". It is a selective herbicide that controls broadleaved plants without harming grassy types (including turf). Triclopyr works very similar to Roundup by killing the roots after spraying the foliage. I've found it to do an excellent job on brush and vine species. When spraying, you should make sure not to spray when the temperatures exceed 80 degrees and to avoid any sprays to get onto ornamental plants and vegetables. To achieve better results, try mixing a tablespoon of dishsoap into your sprayer AFTER mixing the Triclopyr and water. The dishsoap helps allow more of the mixture to stay on… [cont.]

Q. In the beginning of Blades of Glory, they show the story of little Jimmy growing up and skating in that peacock costume. Would anyone happen to know the name and artist of that song? I've been dying to know! Thanks a bunch! :)

A person may, indeed, by skillful conduct and various artificial means, make a sort of name for himself; but if the inner jewel is wanting, all is vanity, and will not last a day.
