Food Not Bombs is a loose-knit group of independent collectives, serving free vegan and vegetarian food to others. Food Not Bombs' ideology is that myriad corporate and government priorities are skewed to allow hunger to persist in the midst of abundance. To demonstrate this (and to reduce costs), a large amount of the food served by the group is surplus food from grocery stores, bakeries and markets that would otherwise go to waste. This group exhibits a form of franchise activism.

How do I get rid of meal moths in my food cabinets?
Q. I have tried sticky traps, raid and other sprays. They just keep coming out. Is there a way to kill the eggs as well? Perhaps a chemical bomb?

A. Yes, true you have to throw every open package away and clean thoroughly with a household cleaner (I prefer bleach and water. One cap full per gallon of warm water) but when you do restock, make sure to invest in some plastic containers with tight fitting lids. I bought several that will accomodate 5 pound bags, such as flour, sugar and rice, and a couple of smaller containers for dark and light brown sugar and confectioners sugar. They stack up nice and also make it much easier for me to keep my cabinets organized and bug free. Make sure you clean your cabinets on a regular basis . I haven't had a problem since I started doing this. By the way, I don't care what the labels read, I would never use any of those products in my kitchen.
