What European airports are typically cheapest to fly to from the US?
Q. I am looking to travel back to Europe over this summer with some of my friends. We would be flying out of New York, and have several places within Europe that we want to visit, but will be traveling mainly by car/train and staying at friends houses. So far, the lowest price to get to continental Europe has been 894 from New York to Paris, via Icelandair. Does anyone know of airports that are usually very cheap? I tried Brussels but it didn't seem much better. We are targeting anything below 800 roundtrip. Potential departure date is June 19th, returning July 28th or later.

A. I think you're too far away from your travel date to find the best prices. Although you're travelng during the peak summer travel season, prices will usually come down a little closer to your travel dates. 90 days out often is a time when prices are good, and there may be sales before then as well. Typically, the larger cities that serve competitive routes are the cheapest, London, Paris, Frankfurt and Amsterdam are among the cheaper cities to fly to. Aer Lingus often has good prices to Ireland. Try waiting awhile and keep tracking prices, I think you'll do better in a few months, especially if the economy remains poor and the demand for travel is low.
