An airport is a location where aircraft such as aeroplanes, helicopters, and blimps take off and land. Aircraft may also be stored or maintained at an airport. An airport consists of at least one surface such as a runway, a helipad, or water for takeoffs and landings, and can often includes buildings such as hangars and terminal buildings. Larger airports may have fixed base operator services, seaplane docks and ramps, air traffic control, passenger facilities such as restaurants and lounges, and emergency services. A military airport is known as an airbase or air station. The terms airfield, airstrip, and aerodrome may also be used to refer to airports, and the terms heliport, seaplane base, and STOLport refer to airports dedicated exclusively to helicopters, seaplanes, or short takeoff and landing aircraft. In some jurisdictions, the term airport is used where the facility is licensed as such by the relevant government organization (e.g. the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Transport Canada). Elsewhere the distinction is merely one of general appearance. Yet other areas define an airport by its having the necessary customs offices etc expected of a port, though the more general term is airport of entry. From Wikipedia under the

I need to understand which of the 2 airports fly to where etc generally for purposes of renting a convenient house to fly internationally Asked by Tim - Tue Sep 16 15:06:33 2008 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments A. Hello, In fact it is very simple, when you check the airports official website, ADP.fr choose the english version. You get the flight schedule, with "leaving from paris" "arriving in paris" You just have to click on advanced search. You can also be more accurate. Just write the town or country you are going to, or leaving. The results given shows you if it is either CDG (roissy) or Orly. This will help you to make your choice. The south of Paris (Orly) is quite nice. CDG (roissy) is in the north of Paris) You can have a look about the transports, the official website RATP, will help you to choose your house. You will know how far is your house from the airport, using bus, subway, etc.. If you don't find a house quickly, you can stay… [cont.] Answered by monteil m - Fri Sep 19 12:56:10 2008 What are the best ways to and from the airports in London?
Q. I will fly into Gatwick, stay a few days in London, then fly out of Stansted. I will return two weeks later to do the same thing in reverse. What is the most economical way of getting to these airports. It seems the train fares are considerably higher than there were a few years ago...especially against the US dollar. Asked by David L - Mon May 7 10:47:16 2007 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. There are National Express buses that go from Gatwick to Victoria station in London that cost 6.60 pounds one way. That's a lot cheaper than the Gatwick Express train, but not much cheaper than local rail which is about 8.90. The bus can take an hour and a half or longer, depending on traffic, though. It is up to you. The cheapest one way bus to Stansted is 8 pounds. But again, you spend a long time on the bus when you go that way. Neither airport is directly linked to the Underground system. (This is why I always try to fly into Heathrow!) If time isn't a problem, go with the bus. If you need to make a flight connection, the slightly more expensive train may be the way to go. Since you are doing the trip twice, you could buy a return… [cont.] Answered by aerin - Mon May 7 13:47:21 2007 From Yahoo Answer Search: "Airports" See also:
