What happened to AOL in the timer warner/AOL conglomeration?
Q. I'm supposed to write a paper about the AOL/ Time Warner conglomeration, but I don't understand how it profitted anyone. AOL isn't as well known anymore, and Time Warner now just promotes Road Runner. Did AOL get lost in this translation? Did the conglomeration not work out like they wanted it to?

A. AOL pretty much has been digested by Time Warner. No one made much on this. Ted Turner lost billions on this investment.

A. Do you want to record them yourself or have someone else do them? If yourself it's a matter of paying for studio time. If you want someone else to record them then you're in for a long ride. No record company is going to even consider unsolicited material. You need to copyright them, make a demo, and promote it. You can also check out taxi.com. Thay are a huge A&R company. For an annual membership fee you have the opportunity to get your material out to the music, movie and video game industry. And it will be solicited. Give them a shot. No telling who may be interested in your material.

If AOL Time hadn't killed WCW!!?

A. WCW killed itself; AOL Time Warner just buried it. Eric Bischoff got lucky. He came up with an idea that "revolutionized" the business (actually he "borrowed" it from the Japanese): one promotion invading another. At least, that's what he made it look like, with two high-profile WWF wrestlers appearing to invade WCW with the intention of "taking over". Once Hulk Hogan did his heel turn the nWo was born...and was a major hit. The first couple of years, Bischoff, WCW, and the nWo could do no wrong. Everything they did grabbed ratings, headlines, and more viewers. With Ted Turner's money Bischoff was able to sign just about anybody he wanted. Problem was, Bischoff didn't know how to run a wrestling promotion and he listened to a few… [cont.]

Roadrunner Light thru Time Warner Cable?
Q. This service is to be installed on my parents computer in Amelia, OH next week. I ordered the "Light" version since they only need the net to surf and look at email, plus it's only $19.95/ mo. Is this a good, fast service (they currently use AOL dial-up), and are there any hidden costs?? Thanks.
Asked by animal_mother - Tue Aug 21 18:14:41 2007 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. I have the Roadrunner Lite version, which I downgraded to from the Premier version, after my job stopped paying the bills. There are no additional costs other than taxes. There are no contracts, and its not a teaser rate, so it doesnt jump up in 6 months or anything. I will say though, its faster than dialup, but its a lot slower than the service I used to have. I really notice the difference if Im uploading pictures or downloading something big. If you mainly do email, ebay, stuff like that, then it will be perfect for you. If you are doing some hard core stuff that really needs fast speeds, you'll likely be disappointed. From your description though, it sounds like a perfect fit to me.

how do i join in the class a lawsuit against aol for not cancelling my account?
Q. AOL kept charging my account for several months even after I called to cancel dial up internet service prior to leaving wichita falls texas. When it was finally cancelled (several months later at $24.95 a month) I couldn't get any back credits for months i didn't use AOL because my new area has no AOL dial up service numbers. The customer call agent said that I have DSL internet service with Road Runner/Time Warner and I have access to use AOL but he never confirmed that I actually got on my AOL account. I got so frustrated after almost 10 minutes of repeating and hearing this guy just insists i dont get any money back that I hung up to prevent any further mental anguish and permanent damage. It was like talking to an android.

if you have a put option in a company, and the company is being merged or acquired. are you in gain or lose?
Q. if you have a put option in a company, and the company is being merged or acquired before the expiration date. are you in gain or lose? the first scenario is, for example aol-time warner, if you have a put option in either company before they merge, what happened to your option after they merge as a new company? the second scenario is, A company acquired B company, and B company is no longer exist after the acquisition, than what happened to your put option in either company?
Asked by Goldlion168 - Fri Jul 20 02:12:37 2007 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. After a company is taken over all option contracts are worthless. That is why you should take action before this happens. A put option, as you know, is betting the stock will drop in price, so regardless of the direction of the stock, you should sell it before the merger is complete or the option expires.

How exactly does high speed internet work?
Q. So we're finally surrendering and considering high speed internet. Currently we have dial up AOL service. The local high speed connection for our area is Time Warner which charges like $20. Should we keep AOL and pay the high speed charge of $20 plus the $10 AOL high speed service that like protects against viruses and other junk? What other options are there?

A. "People Still Use Aol?!?!" Well, I guess some people do , so , yes , I would get the cable if I were you , get the fastest plan , I assure you that you will love it , but , why on earth would you pay for AOL still? It will just slow down your high speed and their anti virus and other features aren't good anyway. Good anti virus can be found for free on cnet.com , in the download section Get AVG anti virus , and AdAdware SE. 2 Very good anti virus and anit spyware programs. Good Luck.
