Q. how long does it you to die from AIDS
Asked by OHH MIRA - Fri Jun 13 18:26:15 2008 - - 4 Answers - 2 Comments
A. These days, with treatments, many people who are HIV+ can live healthier longer than they could in the past. Medications won't kill the virus, but can increase the amount of time between diagnosis of HIV and diagnosis of AIDS. The amount of time a person lives with HIV depends on many factors, including the health of the person before infection, the person's response to the virus, and the person's response to treatment. A person whose illness has progressed to AIDS is more likely to die more quickly, because at that point, other infections such as colds, flu, and pneumonia can be deadly. However, again, it is impossible to say just how long the person will live.

where can I get assistance getting hearing aids?
Q. I'm currently attending school full-time and working a full-time job at Walt Disney World for 7 dollars an hour. Between the tuition for school, and my other bills, and rent, I am having trouble saving enough money for new hearing aids I m starting to need. Since hearing aids are not covered by insurance and the prices of them are sky-high, I'm afraid I will not have enough money saved to buy new hearing aids by the time I need them. I hate to ask for charity but I'm starting to be backed into a corner. Any suggestion about what I could do?

A. Check with the Hearing Loss Association of America (www.hearingloss.org), which also has a state organization in Florida with local chapters. That's one place to look. Assuming you're in Florida (home of WDW), check with these organizations: North Florida Lions Hearing Aid Bank Lion William E. Whether the AIDS which is very fast spreading disease can be cured and diagnosed at the initial level?
Q. AIDS is almost incurable disease. Most peoples dies due to diagnosis of the patient at the secondary stage. For prevention of it, use of genuine and reliable condoms and other safety measures has to be taken. If there is proper diagnosis of the probable patient at the initial stage, then he will be cured at the stage before going into the dangerous or secondary level. Also using of reusable syringe through blood donation or curing the disease of the patient, there are more chances of causing AIDS to the patient. Common misconception of many people that there is a cure for it when diagnose at early stage. The only available drugs against Retrovirus at this time is only pallative. It means, the medication is only work to retard or slow down the replication and spread of the virus. But there is no way to eliminate it completely. Another misconception is many people were dying due to HIV-AIDS virus. The real truth was, people infected by retrovirus died not because of the virus perse. What are the chances of having AIDS if you never had sex or used needles?
Q. How else can someone get AIDS? Can you get it from scraping your foot or hand on an infected nail? Can you get it from sharing the same bath water with someone who has it? If AIDS can't live in the air then how is it people can get it through sharing needles?
Asked by Cherry - Fri Nov 16 12:03:10 2007 - - 6 Answers - 0 Comments
A. HIV cant live outside the human body. Its a virus and can only replicate within human cells. It can survive in blood outside the human body, but only for a short time. People get it from sharing needles because small amounts of blood stay on or in the needles. The only way you can catch it is by direct contact with infected body fluids for example through unprotected sex, blood transfusions (blood is screened thoroughly these days so this is very very unlikely) and through sharing needles. You cannot get it from kissing, toilet seats or sharing bathwater!

Can you get aids from someone who has never been sexually active?
Q. Lets say his mom never had aids either, and he has never had sex with ANYONE else or done anything with anyone else whatsoever. Could you get aids from his semen? I dont have aids either, my mom never did and I have never had sex with anyone else.

A. Only if both his biological parents and both your biological parents have been 100% tested to not be and the same with you and him then there is a 99% probability you wont get aids however he may have picked up an STD from anything from Injecting himself with drugs to licking infected blood. Before you do anything be aware that sexual activity is not the only way to pick up STD's. My advice is only from my knowledge so please do not rely solely on it i recommend contacting other sources before engaging as lacking in knowledge of this subject can be fatal.

What evidence is there that HIV does not cause AIDS?
Q. I have been given to read this article about AIDS denialism and some questions to answer about it but the thing is I cannot find evidence that suggests that other reasons (such as poverty, malnutrition) causes AIDS. The article states these other reasons but what evidence is there that e.g. poverty causes AIDS? Can anyone possibly direct me to some reliable websites? That would be helpful thanks. Granted, it seems very clear, but they do have a valid scientific point; but you have to wonder why they are exploring this fact..because they believe that it is really a virus we have not found that is causing AIDS, or another causitive agent...poverty seems silly because… [cont.]

How to improve speech intelligibility in hearing aids?

The more accurate modeling of human voice is LPC (Linear Predictive Coding). How often are high profile elections won by political aids rather than politicians themselves?
Q. I would say that the political aids determined the 2008 presidential election. Hillary Clinton was held back by her people, Republicans often seem to have some hiccups in that regard, and Obama's political aids are some of the best the Democrats have to offer. Is it common for financial aids to take longer than usual to get verified?
Q. I've had taken out financial aids for college last year and the year before but this time, it's taking longer than usual for my 2008-09 application to get verified, even though I submit it almost three months ago. College already started for me and I'm still waiting for the loans to come in. Just curious if anyone else have this kind of problem as well.
Asked by Hollywood Vegas - Mon Aug 25 20:03:16 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Yes. Same problem. No it is not especially common. Rather, it is uncommon for financial aid (assistance) to take longer than usual to get verified. All for good reasons. Genuine reasons. However, the government might well, now and then, throw a spanner in the works. That is when it might well take longer than usual. Although, the term 'usual' is common these days. Q. I've had taken out financial aids for college last year and the year before but this time, it's taking longer than usual for my 2008-09 application to get verified, even though I submit it almost three months ago. College already started for me and I'm still waiting for the loans to come in. Just curious if anyone else have this kind of problem as well.

A. Red tape, I believe. Hope this Helps.

What happens to people when they have the AIDS virus? Do they suffer from mental illness?
Q. My Aunt has AIDS and she was recently ammited in the mental hospital. Do people with AIDS develop metal problems? I'm not sure what she is going through because she lives in a different state (Mississippi and I live in Florida). I was never allowed around her after she caught the diease. She caught it from sleeping around(prostituting for crack) but she isn't like that anymore. She changed her ways along time ago. I'm kinda worried. My mom won't tell me why she was amitted.

A. HIV (the virus that causes AIDS) can cause memory problems and other problems, depending on the location that the virus infects in the brain. The brain is not effected in every person who has HIV. Mental illness: Your aunt may also be suffering from severe depression or anxiety due to the fact that she has AIDS. HIV is transmitted by unprotected sex with someone who has HIV, sharing needles for drug use with someone who has HIV, or it can be transmitted from a woman to her child during pregnancy, delivery or breast feeding. HIV is NOT transmitted by saliva or casual contact. You can touch, hug, or even kiss your aunt without risk of transmission. Your mother may have thought that the disease was transmitted by casual contact, or… [cont.]

A. theres alot theres is one childrens hospice close to where I live alot of europeans and westerners come here like you and they cant handle it because your people are very emotional and are not used to death so most usually leave or make a scene and cry out loud. If you are going to work with people with aids, I would recomend that you volunteer at an AIDS hospice in America or wherever you live first before you come here. Email me, I know alot about aids orphans in east africa
