A. 1st gen has a flat, rounded edge stainless steel back, and a flat black bezel/border around the front. just like on the iPod classics 2nd gen has a tapered stainless steel back that also borders the front. the font of the unit, and workings attached basically drop into the stainless steel back. also, the 2nd gen device is suppossed to be thinner, and it features a built-in speaker, just like in the iPhones, and also has volume buttons on the side of the unit. you are much better off buying a 2nd gen due to all of the great features. also, a new device is only $230, as opposed to the $300 price tag on the 1st gen. i have a first gen, and i am mad at myslef for not waiting a couple weeks and getting the 2nd gen.

A. I think Apple wouldn't release a whole generation of iPod touch without improving it. What I hope it will have the following features: Faster processor Faster Wifi Stero Bluetooth (confirmed). FM Radio (as it's the same chip as the bluetooth). Tethering (connect Ipod Touch to a laptop or something to get Wifi). Camera (heard rumors but I won't think it'll come out in the 3rd generation. Maybe the 4th if they're low on ideas to make it better. More space (like 10GB, 20GB and maybe 50GB). Voice Control (as in Iphone 3GS feature when you hold the home button in and talk to tell what you want it to do.)
